"I founded Refreshing Rooms because I want you to fall in love with your home. You deserve a peaceful haven that reflects your personal style."
My creative journey began at age 12 when my best friend taught me the art of cross-stitch. Although cross-stitching required concentration and focus, I found it relaxing and got lost in my patterns for hours at a time. I quickly discovered how much I thrived on the details of artistic projects.
A creative spirit was born.
A love for decorating literally blossomed the day I moved into my first one-bedroom apartment, sans roommates. I felt so liberated and free because the place was all mine! Fortunately, I had an open-minded landlady who allowed me to fully explore my whimsical decor ideas. Several years later, I purchased a condo and my interior design enthusiasm turned into a full-on passion. Being a homeowner was like having my own built-in playground for design experiments.
Through my personal decor and design adventures, I observed that I was doing the following things on a regular basis, as part of my everyday life:
- Creating something out of nothing.
- Arranging warm and cozy environments.
- Transforming trash into unique and lovely treasures.
- Solving problems practically.
So I began to wonder how I could do the same things for others. I often thought... "How can I make homes more beautiful for people on a budget, while being minimally invasive and honoring their personal style? There MUST be a way."
Then I discovered Redesign.
After lots of soul searching, the path to home styling became crystal clear. It's the perfect marriage of my skills and passions. I pursued this dream by becoming certified through I.R.I.S., the leading organization for interior redesign. And I am committed to ongoing education through several home styling organizations.
I founded Refreshing Rooms because I want you to fall in love with your home. You deserve a peaceful haven that reflects your personal style. I look forward to collaborating with you! ~Lisa
